We Need Corporators
Most religious congregations have corporators. This is a splendid concept. They
are lay people of deep faith in the Catholic Church who come together as a group
to pray for the congregation and to interact with the members of the congregation
on various levels.
Bhakti Bhavan is the Bangalore Archdiocesan Minor Seminary with
a Director and a Spiritual Director to guide the seminarians and a few teachers
who work for an honorarium. We do not have corporators but we will soon be forming
a body of corporators. We need people of Faith and Goodwill who can spend time in
prayer for the spiritual and temporal needs of the seminary. Here at Bhakti
Bhavan we have students who have passed their 10th standard (or more).
They are those who have qualified in the interview conducted by the Archbishop of
Bangalore. The inmates of Bhakti Bhavan are given formation for
the Priesthood. From here, they are, at a later stage, sent to the Major Seminary
for their Philosophy and Theology studies.
The inmates of Bhakti Bhavan are both from the city and rural areas
of our Archdiocese. The basic needs of the seminary are looked after by the Archbishop.
However, donations in cash or kind, to Bhakti Bhavan are always
welcome for the general welfare of the seminary. Our prior concern is to have “corporators”
who care for the future of this Archdiocese and the Catholic Church as a whole.
Our corporators should be people who care:
- To pray for the Archdiocese, the Archbishop and his priests
- To spend time in prayer for our seminarians
- To pray for their families
- To attend the annual or periodical programmes/functions organized by our seminarians
- To spare their services for the good of the seminary (Eg. A doctor can make a periodical
visit to the seminary)
We hope to grow. With your concern for us, we surely will.
We hope to grow. With your concern for us, we surely will. If you are interested
in making a difference, please call Rev. Fr. Adolf Washington (DIRECTOR) on +91-080-5471356
or visit in person.
NB: The corporators of Bhakti Bhavan will not assume the any decision-making responsibilities
as regards the formation of students. This will purely function like ‘a prayer team’.
