Dear
This request comes to you from the Archbishop of Bangalore Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras,
and Staff Members of Bhakti Bhavan; Rev. Fr. Lawrence Noronha, Spiritual Director,
Rev. Fr. Cyril Victor, Vice-Rector and Rev. Fr. John Sudeep, Rector.
Have you ever thought of becoming a priest!
Have you ever hoped that your son would be one! Yes! You are right!
There should be a call from God to become a priest
While vocations are a gift from God, and the initiative is His, nevertheless He
depends on our collaboration to carry out his plans.
You can support them in Two Ways:
- Spend at least 5 minutes every day, to whisper a prayer to the "Lord of the Harvest"
to send more people to join the priesthood and bless those in the seminary.
- Provide financial assistance
BHAKTI BHAVAN is a formation house under the auspices of the Archbishop of Bangalore,
Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras that prepares young aspirants to the Priesthood. This Minor Seminary
is the heart of the Archdiocese where young boys are formed
Bangalore Urban and Bangalore Rural (Tumkur, Kunigal, Solur Channapattana, Kanakapura,
KGF, Chinthamani, Chikballapura and Doddabalapura) are trained to discern their vocation call.
At present there about 60 young boys, between the age group of 16-22 years. While they stay in
Bhakti Bhavan (free of cost) for 3 years they undergo intensive courses on: Introduction to the Bible,
Spirituality, Basic Liturgy, Church History of Bangalore Archdiocese, Life Coping Skills...
and also how to reach out to God's people with love. They are also taught languages like English,
Kannada and Tamil as well as Basic Latin, the traditional language of the Church.
On completion of their graduation they return and re-apply for pre-Philosophy for
one year at the Major Seminary. It takes another 2 years of Philosophy, 1 year of Regency
and 4 years of Theology before Ordination.
I am attaching a Benefactor Appeal form outlining the approximate amount we spend
for a Seminarian for one year and request your generous contribution.
Please be assured that our Seminarians pray daily for their benefactors and especially
more so when they are ordained Priests.
Yours in Christ
